| Tech-Interns.com:
A partnership conceived from a common philosophy
Tech-Interns.com
was created with a specific focus . That focus is on
the multi-facetted fields of science and engineering.
Tech-Interns.com
was created for a specific purpose . That purpose is
to provide a valuable and needed resource for university and
college students who seek opportunities to enhance their theoretical
knowledgebase in the classroom with real-world professional
experiences outside of their academic institution.
This website
is a result of a partnership between the American
Society for Engineering Education and the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration established to increase the awareness of opportunities
in engineering and science to undergraduate and graduate students.
Both ASEE and the NASA share a firm dedication to promoting
and improving engineering and technology education. They share
the same concerns about the decreasing numbers of students entering
math, science, and engineering fields. In consideration of those
concerns and their mutual commitment to science and engineering
education, this website is focused on all students at
the university level. This means that the new college freshman
currently undecided in his or her major, but desires to develop
an interest in engineering and science will find possible opportunities
on this site. This means the graduate student who seeks additional
opportunities to put their technical education to the test in
a hands-on, real-world research environment will find possible
opportunities on this site. This website is designed with both
the student for whom specific career goals have long-since been
realized, to those just beginning to sort through the academic
possibilities available to them at the university level.
This site
is an online clearinghouse for information regarding extra-curricular
study and employment in technical and science fields. The features
of this site include not only a search engine for internship
and co-op opportunities, but also links to many other helpful
websites on internships, post-graduate employment, scholarships,
and financial aid. These websites contain more information for
students to make a better educated decision in an important and,
in today's competitive market place, an imperative step in their
academic career.
ASEE and
NASA share the desire for a new found solution to the problem
of a lack of a freely accessible, comprehensive resource for
those who need answers to questions about what to do with their
interest, their excitement, and their enthusiasm for science
and engineering. The solution is Tech-Interns.com.
